Space Race, as a lot of my other tracks did, started out with me typing random melodies into my keyboard. It began on December 21, 2019, and was finished in January 2020, around the same time I began releasing music.
The cover art features the Rottnest Island Space Agency (RISA), a group of astronaut quokkas who, after the miraculous discovery of Quokkium, the "happiest element in the world", revolutionised Rottnest Island and propelled the quokkas straight into the space age! They now have satellites in what they call the Quokkasphere, orbiting the planet for the pure purpose of broadcasting positive vibes worldwide 24/7!
If you're curious, I made a time-lapse showing how I designed this cover art from start-to-finish on my iPad: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uFLNVLNUNU
One of the Space Quokkas even appears in Zero Gravity: moule.bandcamp.com/track/zero-gravity
Other facts about Space Race:
- It was originally called "AYYLMAO" and was meant to be themed around funny aliens. The cover art was also planned to have a more boxier-shaped rocket and be black and green in colour and be flown by a green alien.
- It's my 112th track and 74th release!
