Reality Collapse was created on July 1, 2023 and finished ten days later. It track soundtracks the end of reality due to the proliferation of generative AI and the rise of VR & AR reality generation tech. As Strattzr and Robin are fully immersed in their personalised experiences, "reality" no longer has an objective meaning!

I first heard about the term "Reality Collapse" in this ABC News article: www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-26/loab-age-of-artificial-intelligence-future/101678206 The term "Reality Collapse" comes from Jack Clark, the former policy director of OpenAI, from this blog post: jack-clark.net/2022/10/03/import-ai-304-reality-collapse-thanks-to-facebook-open-source-speech-rec-ai-culture-wars/. It's about how artificial intelligence will be so powerful we can't tell "the real world" from convincingly real AI-generated media! And by then technology would be so powerful we could curate our own realities with AI-generated movies, music, and AR!

I am utterly fascinated by this idea and can see personalisation AI stretch into video games, music, movies, and other media. However, it will pose a massive problem for freelance artists who make money off comissions.

It'll also pose a huge problem with fake news and the rise of deepfakes and convincingly-accurate AI-generated media to tell what is real or not - we're already seeing this with the rise of AI-generated websites like lihpao.com flooding the Internet's search engines with hundreds of thousands of AI-generated articles and images.

As for this track's creation, it uses the original version of my track "Visionaria" (moule.bandcamp.com/track/visionaria), which I altered significantly before release because I and others I know thought its melody sounded too similar to Darude's "Sandstorm". These melodies from the original Visionaria are used at the start, and the original version itself, an unfinished track called "Beyond Brave New World" (the sequel to Visionaria back when it was called Brave New World) is played backwards halfway through this track.
