Introducing Pyramid Scheme, my 9th track released! This is actually an extremely recent track I made. While I was still setting up this Bandcamp page, my Twitter, etc, and on the same day I released Quetzal (January 3, 2020), I started to make Pyramid Scheme! Now it is finished! From now on, whenever I make new music, I'll make it a priority to release the new tracks first, and if I haven't made anything new by Saturday, I'll release one of the old tracks I've done. They go back as far as July 2015.
This track has absolutely nothing to do with the scam of the same name, though! I just made it, and when I listened back to it, my mind brought up images of a cartoonish world with pyramids, deserts, and temples, so I just named this track "Pyramid Scheme". It sounds like something you'd hear in a desert-themed level of a game, and you're in this pyramid and you have to dodge booby traps to grab the treasure!
The chord progression is actually an old one though. In 2018 I tried to make dubstep (and failed hilariously), and these same notes were the build-up in that track (now deleted). I've decided to reuse them in this tech house track (did I get the genre right this time?). In honour of this track being made on January 3, exactly 4 years after I created Indigo, I've used similar percussive elements here.
