I finally feel ready to share with you all the very first track I ever finished. I started messing around with GarageBand in mid 2015, and this was one of the first tracks I completed with it, on July 27th, 2015.
I made some subtle tweaks to the mastering, but want it to remain mostly preserved as I made it almost 6 years ago. I'm releasing this along with "Panthalassa (Remix)" to compare how much I've improved since then: moule.bandcamp.com/track/panthalassa-remix
The title came from when I was reading a book about continental drift. In the early 1900s, a scientist called Alfred Wegener noticed the continents of the world all look like they once fit together, which he called the "Urkontinent", or "Pangaea" ("all lands") as the concept was also known. "Panthalassa" ("all seas") would've been the superocean surrounding it, and feeling inspired by this, I made this track to try and capture the vastness of this superocean, hence the title (and the heavy reverbs!).
There were many other tracks older than Panthalassa, but I deleted them all. Only 2 incomplete ones that are older than this survived.
And there is once again another quokka hidden in this cover art!
"Panthalassa" is my FIRST EVER track and 52nd release! To hear this on other platforms, go to distrokid.com/hyperfollow/moule/panthalassa. For the latest MOULE updates, follow or bookmark Mastodon.
