LET'S GOOOOOOO!!

"LET'S GOOOOOOO!!" is my first BREAKCORE release!! It's one of the most craziest-sounding tracks I've ever came up with after 5 months of splicing up drum samples, and is unlike anything I've ever made before.

LET'S GOOOOOOO!! (2021)

It's a fun, tongue-in-cheek nod to the breakcore, speedcore, happy hardcore, rhythm gaming, livestreaming, speedrunning, and furry netlabels — all major influences on my music — inspired by the colourful, cartoony aesthetics common in them. I've found "LET'S GOOOOOOO!!" to be a common catchphrase across these cultures, which I thought sounded fitting as this track's title during production. However, I couldn't come up with a better name for this track upon release, so "LET'S GOOOOOOO!!" remains!

This track started when I was browsing radio stations and I came across datafruits.fm, which at the time was playing breakcore, inspiring me to start producing my own take on the genre.

I began with seven of GarageBand's breakbeat drum samples and proceeded to absolutely chop them up into oblivion, then scattered them throughout the track.

To spice things up, I threw in drum and bass, happy hardcore, and vaguely-dubstep-style interludes, then added extratone noises!

I just kept mashing up the seven drum samples, changing the order of stems, changing pitches and frequencies, and the result is one of the most complicated and the most experimental MOULE track of them all!

The cover art was equally challenging but SO MUCH FUN to make!! Reflecting the colourful "breakcore aesthetic", the drummer is Hyper Hyena — she's a rhythm-gaming drummer and the greatest drumming hyena of all time! (I've often been told my music would sound great in rhythm games, but I can't imagine someone playing THIS in Beat Saber!) It's also an exploration into the visual art principle of movement.

Created using Assembly with gradients added in Enlight (now Photofox). As with all my tracks in 2021, there's a quokka (a West Aussie marsupial) hidden in it! Can you see it?

Started on June 22, 2021 but completed on November 12, It's my 145th finished track and 60th release!
