Created on November 22, 2019, and finished in the following December, It's Your Planet Too started out with a simple 4-tone bell that repeats itself throughout the track. On top of this melody, I once again did my usual process of adding kicks, hi-hats, snares, etc throughout the track. I feel the cheery melody I wrote in the lead-up to the second "chorus" of the track was one of the best things I did for it!
This track was originally called "Short and Sweet", due to this track's unusually short time (4:44). I did a check recently; as of January 1, 2020, all my tracks average 9 mins and 10 seconds, so this track is short to me. I believe my exposure to a lot of progressive house music when I was younger is what resulted in me trying to achieve such long tracks too, although some of them can sound rather boring. It just feels like a track isn't a track to me unless it's long; I don't appeal to goldfish attention spans. I am making an effort to make my tracks smaller though and not just have the same stuff repeat over and over again.
Then I decided to name this track "Fragile Planet", but then at the last minute named it "It's Your Planet Too", and made this picture of the Earth. It's because recently, I've become quite worried about the state of the planet due to things like climate change, the constant threats of war / extinction, and the coronavirus outbreak. In a way, my track "It's Your Planet Too" reminds us that our ecosystems are fragile, and that we share the same planet and need to protect it.
