Hoodie Rave is another track I created a while ago and repurposed to fit current MOULE lore. It was made on June 2, 2018 as "Summer of Love 2067" and was once my longest track ever at 13:26 minutes! However, it was quite cold when I made this, and my synesthesia decided this track felt cold - so in 2023 it was renamed "Hoodie Rave" and remastered with a new bass sidechain. Hope I did alright!
This track is in celebration of my favourite item of clothing: hoodies! I don't know why, I just feel really comfortable wearing them. Of all (currently) 34 MOULE characters, 9 of them (including me!) wear hoodies, all shown in this track's cover art!
This track continues my theme in 2023 of linking new and past releases together in some sort of "MOULE World Timeline", like how one of my recent releases, Quokkium, takes place after the events of Rottnest Island released before it.
This track takes place directly after the events of my previous release Cried (moule.bandcamp.com/track/cried, 3:06 minutes in), where Melody played Melville a sadder version of this track's melody on her guitar before inviting everyone in the train to this rave. Mei once again took a square-shaped photo to upload on the now defunct 2Square social media, acting as this track's cover art. (For more info about the events BEFORE Cried, check this out: mastodon.moule.world/@MOULE/109898546781646856)
Beside Mei, Melody tries to get Melville comfortable dancing in clubs, but Rocky (Pre-Singularity) appears out of nowhere to take a picture of Ecstatica behind them and unfortunately gets Melville's shocked face! Melissa stands behind Melville looking unamused.
To their left sits MOULE, the artist who made Hoodie Rave's anthem and uploaded it to an obscure website called "moule.bandcamp.com", and Cockburn (pronounced "co-burn"), who's grooving in his seat listening to MOULE's track he made for him called "Cockburn Central" (moule.bandcamp.com/track/-). MOULE is cringing since he hates nightclubs, social gatherings, and being around others playing his music loudly, and he just wants to go home and create the Smellville and Smellody EP in his DAW!
Ecstatica is seen DJ-ing the event, under her original name DJ X-TATIKA (quite literally "under her name" too!). To her right is Brook, whose permanent frosty aura helps keep the club cool.
