Hi! I'm MOULE (pronounced "MOOL" or "MOOLY" - I don't mind which!) – I'm a multi-genre electronic musician and digital artist, and this is my multi-genre world-building project MOULE WORLD: a creative transmedia storytelling and worldbuilding project about trying to get by in a world sitting on the precipice of digital armageddon. Can the Cyber Threat Resistance League fight the Bugs, save Rocky, and stop The Singularity from destroying the world before its too late?!
I've been producing multi-genre electronic music and digital art since 2015 and came up with the name "MOULE" (pronounced "MOOL" or "MOOLY" - I don't mind which!) in August 2017. It's an alternate spelling of "mule", a hybrid work animal, symbolising my work ethic and making music that's stubbornly hybrid, refusing to stay in one genre. "MOULE" is also the word alphabetically after "MOULD" symbolising me being "outside-the-mould" and disinterested in fitting in harmful and restrictive "norms". I choose to write "MOULE" and "MOULE WORLD" in all caps since I just love it like that. The extra "O" conveniently allows me to stick a mule's head out of it as my logo!
In December 2019, I had 110 finished tracks and thought that I'm sitting on so much music, I really need to overcome my fears and share it." So I chose the date of January 1, 2020 (conveniently right at the start of the decade – I thought it'd be a cool start date) to overcome my self-doubt and worries about sharing my work online, starting out on Bandcamp and my (now-deleted) Twitter account. I also released my first track "Halcyon" on that day, so January 1, 2020 is known in MOULE WORLD lore as "Halcyon Day" or "H" for short.
I started by releasing generic abstract artwork and simple tunes to Bandcamp, then in August 2020 joined DistroKid to branch out to other services like Spotify etc, gradually gaining the confidence to share my more unique music and cartoony art style along the way.
In mid-2021, the animal characters from my artworks began getting their own names, personalities, and backstories, and my music began soundtracking a world I now call MOULE WORLD! For all MOULE links, visit MOULE.WORLD!
(IMPORTANT NOTE: The descriptions for all tracks above were copied and pasted from their Bandcamp pages, and due to the sheer number of releases I have it's unlikely they'll be edited again or be consistent format-wise with other tracks' descriptions. For more up-to-date information on a track, consult its page on the MOULE WORLD Wiki.)
